Read below as I describe my journey of finally getting solving my back pain.

If you’re a person in their 20s or 30s and finding yourself always complaining from back pain, that was me 2 years ago.

As a kid, I’ve always seen people in their 20s and 30s to be supposedly in their peak health and performance. However, when I became in my mid 20s myself, I found out that it completely wasn’t the case for me (and most of my friends as well).

Going through my 20s I’ve started developing horrible lower back pain and shoulder blade pain, usually after waking up and after having a long day outside. I’d get the urge to stretch or crack my back, but it would just ease-up the pain for few seconds before it starts coming back again.

2 years ago, I finally said to myself that it only goes downhill from here and I don’t want to go into my 40s with even more back pain! So I started on my research and trial journey of fixing my back pain.

Taking Action

I started with focusing on having better posture, especially with long hours sitting at my desk. But after a while it would get super tiresome and I couldn’t hold good posture for long periods of time. I would usually end up catching myself slouching again a few hours into work.

So I started to look into how I would solve that, everything directed me towards doing more back exercises so I would have the muscles needed to support and hold better posture. So I started a proper full-body light exercise routine, while focusing the most on my back. And it helped a lot!

Nearly Losing Hope

BUT, something wasn’t quite right yet. Even after months of exercise, proper posture, and eating healthy, I still had back pain that is no-where near what a person in their 20s or 30s should have!

So I started to look into my daily habits.. I started to closely monitor if I subconsciously do something that hurts my back. But everywhere I looked, I’d find nothing wrong!

Then one day, it just struck me!

I noticed that my back pain is the worst when I have just woke up! Every day getting out of bed, I’d find that my back would pop a few times and as soon as I start my day, pain would start building up.

So I asked myself: Could it be my mattress??

At that point, I thought: a mattress is a mattress.

I didn’t know there are differences between mattresses and that some are better than others, let alone that you should pick a mattress that’s good for your own needs.

I started to read and learn everything about mattresses. A few days into research, I learned that there are different types of mattresses made for different purposes. And I would find mattresses with features that I didn’t know existed!

After all that research I came back to analyze my mattress, and I found that I had no idea that I’ve been spending 1/3 of my life on a mattress that was that unhealthy and bad for my back. So I said to myself, I’ll fork up a good amount and invest into a good mattress, perhaps it would be the solution to all my issues!

Lo and Behold, the solution to my back pain!

Going through my options, trying tons of different mattresses in store and home trials (I compiled a list of the best mattresses I found). I finally settled on the perfect mattress!
