The mattress expanded in a relatively short period of time, as did the edges, which inflated fully right afterward, thus indicating great corner expansion.

Regarding off-gassing, the Helix Midnight Elite mattress initially emitted a slight non-chemical smell. It took almost 3 days to fully get rid of the odor.

This mainly comes from the GlacioTex-infused top cover, which dissipates heat efficiently, preventing retention. Also, the open structure of the individually wrapped coils promotes airflow, withdrawing extra heat and allowing body heat to dissipate through the mattress.

We carried out another test where we had one person lie still on one side while the other rolled around on the other side. The person lying still reported feeling a slight movement, but not enough to be disruptive. • Shoulders Region: For the shoulders area, we noticed an all-blue color on the pressure map. The memory foam in the mattress most likely affected the mattress’s ability to reduce pressure levels in the shoulders area as it is known for its capability to conform to the body’s shape. This is a plus for people who prefer to sleep on their side more often.
• Hips Region: On the pressure map we saw indicators for great pressure relief in the hips region. We concluded that the mattress provides good pressure relief in that area. However, when a plus-size stomach sleeper tested out the pressure relief in the hips region, we noticed yellow and orange colors which refer to maximized pressure points. This tells us that the Midnight Elite will most likely not well-suit heavier stomach sleepers.
