Materials

The Hush Bed Frame has an inner construction made from hardwood slats that allow for a lightweight bed. The materials used allow easy one-person assembly as the wood used isn’t as heavy as other bed frames. The hardwood used is very average, and we’ll be testing for squeaking as we’re not expecting much. Hush claims that’s the case through their 10-year warranty.

The wood is covered by an upholstered heather grey fabric that gives off modern vibes. You wouldn’t feel the color is overwhelming, which won’t work for those looking for a statement piece for their bedroom. As part of Hush’s craftsmanship, they made sure that the wood and fabric worked together to barely prevent the mattress from slipping.

We have tested Hush’s mattresses before, they’re average mattresses for their budget, and their bed frames are just as average. The frame barely feels sturdy and the fabric that covers the wood feels soft. We made sure that you wouldn’t stain your bed frame by trying to clean up the fabric after spilling some coffee on. It took a lot of effort and after a few scrubs, it barely came off.

You wouldn’t need a foundation to keep your mattress on top of the frame, because there’s no box spring. There are some squeaks and bends in the wood. We recommend the Layla Bed Frame, for a more premium experience.

Assembly

The Hush Bed Frame comes boxed and unassembled, and the assembly took some effort. Stool-free approach to bed frames, which took us around 30 minutes from opening the boxes to a fully assembled frame, made the process a bit tiring.

The boards snap together, and the legs are simple screws that screw to the bottom of the bed frame. The hardwood slats are a single roll of fabric with the wooden hardwood slats inside, the same fabric on the inside. Just opening the box that includes the slats and unrolling it on the frame lasted us all 30 minutes.
