Upon opening the box, you'll find the futon itself neatly rolled and compressed, along with a dust bag for convenient storage when not in use. Since the futon arrives compact, be cautious when opening the box with scissors or a cutter to avoid any accidental damage.

Once you've carefully opened the box, simply unroll the futon and note that the futon comes with straps and a dust bag for easy storage later, so you don't have to worry about finding a way to keep it rolled up neatly.

After unrolling the futon, give it some time to expand to its full shape. In our experience, it took about 2 days for the futon to fully expand to its intended 3-inch height, with the corners filling out nicely as well, which indicated great corner expansion.

We did not notice a strong odor when unboxing the futon. OEKO-TEX certification and odor are separate considerations, and one cannot be used to predict the other.

The futon also has moisture-wicking features, which means if you’re a hot sleeper who tends to sweat in their sleep, you’ll find that the Zonli futon is to your liking as it will offer a restful and undisturbed sleeping experience.

For prolonged sleeping sessions, we didn’t experience any heat buildup and felt more secure and supported in the back and stomach sleeping positions, however, we felt a bit of pressure on the shoulder area in the side sleeping position. However, this is typical of any futon mattress due to its compact design.
