The Amerisleep AS3 arrived to us compressed in a box that was slightly heavy. However, it had two handles that allows two people to easily carry it to the desired room, so make sure to have someone to help you while unboxing this mattress. To unbox it, you simply take it out of the box, place it on your bed, carefully cut the plastic wrap, and leave it to fully expand.

When we unboxed the Amerisleep AS3 mattress, we noticed that it took a couple of hours to fully expand into its full 12-inch height. We also noticed that it expanded all the way to its very edges. Such good edge expansion makes your bed look better and indicates that it has a good edge support.

Most bed-in-a-box mattresses release an irritating, irritating odor once they are unboxed, known as chemical off-gassing.
